History Of UOS

The idea to establish sub-campuses of the universities in Punjab was conceived by the Governor of Punjab in his capacity as Chancellor of the University in order to give people from all localities equal access to higher education. The academic community and other facets of society embraced the concept wholeheartedly. In order to support the government’s initiative to bring education to the doorsteps of the people, Bahauddin Zakariya University Multan put it into action right away and opened one of its satellite campuses in Sahiwal in January 2005.

The city of Sahiwal is perfectly situated in the middle of Punjab and has a long history of being a center of educational excellence. But in the area of higher education, it was lacking. The university has stepped up and provided all the resources required to close the gap with complete dedication. Since January 2005, the Sahiwal Campus has been operational. On March 9, 2005, the Honorable Chancellor/Governor of Punjab gave it a formal opening.
